I asked maintenance to attach a full drain cover on all kitchen floor drains. The floor drains either were missing covers or just a half drain cover. I wanted to prevent injuries and cartwheels getting caught in the floor drains and loosing food. We used floor signs until floor covers were completely done and drains were covered.
I train my employees on what to look for and what to do if they see water on the floor use floor signs until we get the spill cleaned up report the situation to a manager or supervisor. Damaged equipment tag it and let a manager know so we can let Maintenance know. we also train the kitchen Trustee’s on safety. We want everyone to leave work safe the way they came into work.
