FSD Dea Goad has been the FSD at the most remote facility in all of the Indiana Department of Corrections for many years. The struggle with this remote operation is and will always be staffing, the closest city is 30 miles away. While running a short-staffed operation, Ms. Goad maintains the cleanest and safest kitchen in all of my group. When all new staff start work, she makes sure that they complete all of their safety training, that they are wearing their Shoes for Crews, and she completes their equipment training personally. Just doing the little things and showing her staff how much, she cares about safety has led to an operation that has not had a serious injury in several years.
