(Details Attached) Following the mobilisation of the eir TFM contract in October 2023, part of our mobile technician’s role was to attend and repair underground power supplies which feed NGA boxes across 7000 locations across the Republic of Ireland. These cabinets power the National Broadband Fibre Network. This can be a high-risk activity for a number of reasons
- Flooding
- HV Supply
- No Isolation points
- Earth Leakage
Thanks to our Technical Manager, Eddie Harman, we made the decision to postpone attendance until the work was formally risk assessed. Craig Rowland, Health & Safety Manager, carried out the risk assessment which resulted in a Safe System of Work being developed & implemented. All necessary PPE was ordered and issued to technicians. Training sessions were facilitated to equip the team with the knowledge and skills to carry out the job safely. Thanks to the diligence of our Technical Manager & the response from the account management and Health & Safety team, we have established a SSOW to mitigate the risk of death and serious injury. The learning for the frontline team is that Aramark truly embodies Health & Safety as a key pillar of our business & shows how we can all work together towards achieving Target Zero.
