It was mid-October 2023, when Codelco’s Prevention department historically announced the Safety Cup, which would reward the management of a contracting company for the first time. Posters were filled throughout the Division, videos were uploaded to social networks, colleagues from the Prevention area commented on it and each one made known the reasons why they could be the recipient of the cup.
This is how the bases are born, detailing point by point what would be the key management to determine a winning company, since, of the total of 50 companies, only 1 would win such a precious award. And this is how the 8 parameters are born, which the occupational health and safety management of Ventana Division will review in detail.
1. Do not count accidents with and without lost time during the last 12 months.
2. Do not have operational incidents in the last twelve months.
3. Submit and comply with 100% of the monthly activity program (PAM).
4. Have 100% management of closing Green Cards and gaps raised through the Bow-Tie methodology.
5. Not having critical findings in SSO audit processes, inspections and labor audits.
6. Have 100% participation in meetings of the Joint Slaughter Hygiene and Safety Committee.
7. Not have overexposure in biological tolerance tests during the last 6 months.
