The night shift staff promptly informed the center dispatch to coordinate other on-duty personnel and the engineering department to arrive quickly for emergency rescue.
The cleaning staff showed extremely high professionalism and sense of responsibility in the emergency caused by the burst water pipe of the hemodialysis machine. They responded quickly and carried out emergency rescue operations. Hu Bin, manager of the engineering department, summoned department employees Zhong Deming, Wang Qiang, Li Haizhou, and Qiu Yufang to participate in the action, while picking up the first water gun and rushing to the front. The fire spread and the situation was critical. At this moment, Aramark employees and hospital security personnel raced against time and rushed to control the fire before the arrival of firefighters to prevent the fire from spreading. Ensure the safety of personnel and minimize property safety losses. This “textbook-style” firefighting emergency rescue is closely related to Aramark’s emphasis on safety, EHS training and fire emergency plan training. The collection and delivery vehicles in the cloth supply room of Zigong First People’s Hospital are all handcarts. The hospital environment is in a hilly area in Sichuan, and the collection and delivery route has many steep slopes. It is very difficult to push the cart up and down the slope after the cloth cart is full. There are great safety risks; the project constantly communicates with the Logistics Support Department and emphasizes the existing safety risks. In 2018, the Engineering Department assisted the Logistics Department and paid to install manual brakes on all pickup and delivery vehicles to facilitate employees to brake the vehicles up and down slopes, reducing the risk of accidents.
