Our UMass Lowell team has done an excellent job keeping up with ordering Shoes For Crews for all employees (new and current). We have been successful with this task for a number of reasons:
1) We have a strong safety culture at UMass Lowell. Our leaders take safety seriously, set expectations, and holds the team accountable.
2) Our District Safety Leader keeps up with weekly reminders for who is due for shoes and who will be due within the next week. This allows managers to plan ahead and order their employee shoes ASAP.
3) Consistent messaging and leading by example are also keys to success in safety programs like shoes for crews.
