From DNV, we highlight Aramark Spain’s commitment to a reference recognized by the hashtag #GFSI in the preparation of ready-made meals at their facilities in Zaragoza. This clearly demonstrates their commitment to providing a service of quality and in line with the highest food safety requirements included in the hashtag #FSSC22000 standard, which is not common in this sector. Congratulations, Aramark Spain. Aramark, a world leader in catering services, has obtained the FSSC 22000 “Food Safety System Certification”, an international food safety standard, at its Central Kitchen in Zaragoza. This achievement reflects the company’s commitment to excellence in food safety management and the quality of the food it offers to its customers.
Aramark’s Central Kitchen in Zaragoza is a state-of-the-art facility that is responsible for the production and distribution of food for a wide variety of customers throughout Spain. Located in the Empresarium industrial estate, Aramark’s Central Kitchen has an area of more than 1,400m2 and is designed to offer a high-quality and efficient service.
The kitchen has state-of-the-art technology and a team of highly trained professionals, who work closely together to guarantee the quality and food safety of the products they offer, which is why they have earned this recognition.
FSSC 22000 certification is granted by independent certification bodies such as DNV, accredited by the ISO/IEC 17065 standard, which assess a company’s compliance with the requirements established in the FSSC 22000 standard for food safety, accrediting the consistency of its processes at this level. This accreditation is internationally recognized and supported by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), which promotes the harmonization of food safety standards around the world.
The certification process has consisted of a full audit of all aspects of the food supply chain, including HACCP, good handling practices, product traceability, and raw material quality, among others.
“Obtaining the FSSC 22000 certification is the culmination of months of hard and dedicated work by a multidisciplinary team of professionals in Zaragoza, during which we have made progress in the continuous improvement of our internal processes,” explains Mª José Blasco, Director of Central Kitchens and R+D+I Processes at Aramark Spain.
“This recognition highlights our commitment to excellence in food safety management and to the quality of the products we offer to our customers,” adds Rosa Gel, Quality Director at Aramark Spain.
