Safety is a major part of my day. Being the Safety Champion of my building, I take pride in knowing that I make a difference. Right after I clock in, I make my rounds. I greet each and every employee while simultaneously checking for SFC and proper PPE. I correct employees in a fun way. I may say. “Look at yourself and tell me what’s missing?” We smile and they immediately correct the issue. I also look from a guest’s perspective. I make sure there are no trip hazards, water puddles, etc. I then go to dry storage and make sure that there are no boxes sticking. out causing “struck by” incidents. I look for ways to declutter every day. Having OCD helps me in this aspect. I make safety a part of my life. I also take what I learn at work and apply it to my everyday life.
