Scenario – Joined team Dec 19th. Getting to know the district, client, health department and concerns of the district to better understand the safety culture that exists.

Have been really working on relationships with local health departments and understanding their concern of the district. Worked with Aramark Safety Leadership to understand their understanding of the past concerns. Educated myself on all of the good, bad and what could be possible for this account and then I dug in. Fixing the health department focuses, working on safety briefs, safe observations with the team and then taught the leadership the GMM portal. They now are doing monthly QAs which were not being completed. Shifting the focus to safely operating has been my goal and challenge to the team. It really helped to understand the history of the account and where we were performing or not performing. Low hanging fruit approach to fixing the small things that really matter and then digging into deeper cultural issues.

I also worked with my HR manager to understand the GMM portal and what it told us. We looked to see why we had open claims from years ago and worked closely on the portal to close anything that was open. Explaining the responsibility of getting people back to work as soon as possible. I feel good about the team’s knowledge of safety requirements and the mission to align with no one gets hurt moto. Our people are the most important focus to keep improving our services we offer in the safest manner possible.
